Founder and CEO with over 20 years in education, Dr. Teresa Turner, is a former magnet school student, teacher, and Principal. She has earned certifications from: American Montessori Society (AMS) Montessori Administrative Certification, International Baccalaureate Administrative Certification and is Project-Based Learning Trained by PBL Works..
Dr. Turner, who holds a doctorate in education, started her career in education as a preschool teacher before becoming an elementary school teacher. During her doctoral program at UNC-Chapel Hill, Dr. Turner developed the curriculum that would be later used in both her preschools and magnet school programs.
This curriculum is based on the educational philosophies of constructivism, anti-racism, critical race theory and social justice leadership. Her curriculum literally follows the child's interests and development and empowers each child to embrace differences and celebrate diversity in themselves and others.
Dr. Turner believes in creating safe spaces where children are encouraged to embrace diversity, initiate justice-work and lean into their need to discovery the world around them. She wholeheartedly believes that children learn and retain more information when playing and having fun.
Dr. Turner loves all children and families and strives to make sure she shares her love of learning with everyone she meets. In her spare time, she can be found doing yoga with her granddaughter, listening to audiobooks, playing with her dog (Bentley) or traveling (to new destinations and even enjoying stay-cations) with her husband.
